About the role
Join CAREonsite by Tang and Company as a traveling PRN Musculoskeletal Intervention Specialist (Athletic Trainer) and play a critical role in transforming employee health and safety across the country. You will serve as a subject matter expert on the front lines, traveling to client sites to deliver proactive, evidence-based musculoskeletal solutions that prevent injuries, reduce workers’ compensation costs, and improve overall workforce wellness.
In this highly visible role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments, deliver targeted interventions, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams. You’ll help foster a culture of proactive health and wellness while working in dynamic, fast-paced industrial, manufacturing, distribution, and corporate environments.
Injury Prevention & Musculoskeletal Management
Design, implement, and monitor job-specific conditioning programs tailored to prevent and manage work-related musculoskeletal injuries.
Conduct Functional Movement Screenings (FMS) and other evidence-based assessments to identify functional limitations, mobility deficits, and injury risk factors.
Perform detailed posture and movement pattern analyses to detect structural imbalances and compensatory patterns that contribute to chronic pain or injury.
Complete ergonomic and job-site assessments to identify high-risk tasks, awkward postures, repetitive motions, and other contributors to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Provide practical recommendations to reduce risk.
Job Task Analysis & Reporting
Travel to client sites nationwide to perform thorough Physical Demand Analyses (PDAs) and Job Demand Analyses of essential job functions.
Present findings and recommendations directly to client leadership, safety committees, and operations teams.
Employee Education & Training
Lead engaging, interactive educational sessions and workshops on injury prevention.
Create customized stretching, strengthening, and mobility posters, exercise handouts, and digital resources tailored to each client’s workforce and specific job demands.
Promote a proactive wellness culture by empowering employees with practical tools to take ownership of their musculoskeletal health.
First Aid & On-Site Injury Management
Provide immediate first aid-level care for acute workplace injuries and illnesses in accordance with OSHA guidelines and company protocols.
Assist with injury triage, documentation, and coordination of care with on-site medical providers or external healthcare resources when necessary.
Collaboration & Partnership
Work closely with client EHS managers, safety teams, operations leadership, and human resources to integrate injury prevention strategies into daily operations.
Serve as a trusted advisor and resource, building strong relationships that drive long-term program success and continuous improvement.
Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training
Experience working in the industrial or construction space
Current certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the Board of Certification (BOC)
Active state licensure as a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) in your current state (or eligibility to obtain licensure as needed)
Strong clinical knowledge of musculoskeletal assessment and injury prevention
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a larger team
Position Requirements:
Travel: Ability and willingness to travel up to 85% of the time nationwide. This includes frequent flights, rental car usage, hotel stays, and extended time away from home. Travel schedules can vary based on client needs.
Licensure: Must maintain an unrestricted athletic training license record with no history of disciplinary action.
Home Office: Ability to work effectively from a home office when not traveling, including a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, professional workspace.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required by clients
