Human Resources Generalist

  • Location - On-site Torrance Office
  • Schedule - Mon - Friday (8am - 5pm)
  • Temp/Temp-to-Perm
  • Pay Rate: $32 / hr

The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in supporting a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace. This position partners closely with employees and leaders to administer and enhance a wide range of HR functions, ensuring policies, programs, and practices align with organizational goals and employment laws.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives at the intersection of people, process, and strategy—someone who is detail-oriented yet forward-thinking, discreet yet influential, and comfortable operating across all levels of the organization.


What You’ll Do

Core Responsibilities

  • HR Process Review & Improvement
    • Review and evaluate performance management, termination processes, job descriptions, and employee classifications.
    • Recommend improvements to HR processes, procedures, and organizational structures.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment and wage-and-hour laws.
    • Monitor labor law updates and proactively adjust policies and practices as needed.
  • Onboarding & Pre-Employment Coordination

    • Own the end-to-end onboarding process, from offer acceptance through new hire orientation.
    • Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screens, employment verifications, and I-9 documentation.
    • Prepare and distribute new hire paperwork and ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • HR Strategy & Best Practices
    • Analyze HR programs and strategies against industry best practices to ensure competitiveness.
    • Support the implementation of HR initiatives aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Employee Lifecycle Support
    • Manage employee personnel records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
    • Coordinate onboarding by welcoming new employees, facilitating documentation, and supporting their transition into the organization.
  • Policies & Documentation
    • Develop, update, and maintain company policies and procedures.
    • Ensure policy consistency and adherence across departments or locations.
  • Reporting & Data
    • Prepare HR-related reports, presentations, and data analysis for leadership.
    • Support HR metrics and research initiatives as needed.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist
  • Advanced knowledge of general HR policies, procedures, and operations
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
    • HRIS platforms and payroll systems (e.g., ADP)

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field (Preferred)
  • Healthcare Experience (preferred)
